The "Cocktails Anyone?" martini glass gel candles are absolutely fabulous! One of my favorite wedding favors I've reviewed to date.  These little martini glasses are marvelous, chic and modern favors.  When I first unwrapped them (they came with a styrofoam sheet covering each individual box to safeguard the packaging) I was simply amazed at the tiny details and the beautiful art-deco, retro inspired box it comes in.  The sheer black ribbon is a much needed breath of fresh air compared to the standard white ribbons used and the little olive tag - sweet!

Let me tell you, this is one impressive wedding favor.  Just the packaging alone makes it look elegant, and sizeable compared to some other candle wedding favors I've seen.  They stand at about 2.5" tall, are 2.5" in diameter at the rim, and 2" in diamater at the base.  The candle is filled with clear gel and a small olive inside the gel itself. 

I burned the candle - so soot, no black smoke - a very clean burning candle!!  It lasted two long sessions - about 6 hours in total the burn time is.  The little olive inside the gel is not wax, it felt like some kind of hollow material - but it did not burn. 

I cleaned the glass and now I've got the used marini glass right next to me on my desk.  I cleaned it out and it's now holding push pins. Really adorable.  Perfect for a cocktail reception, a cocktail party or a black tie affair.  The men on your guestlist may actually use these too - they aren't girly but just simply fab.

Overall: Would recommend! 5 Stars!

The Gratest Love Of All - Stainless Steel Cheese Grater favors are adorable, but honestly, I feel these are more suited due to the packaging as bridal shower favors rather than wedding favors - I'm not sure a guy will appreciate these!  These cute miniature graters are perfect for grating things like cinnamon sticks, vanilla, nutmeg, and other smaller spices and toppings.  The box and packaging is beautiful featuring a comic strip like bride with the grater as her dress.  I wouldn't recommend these for your everyday kitchen grater, but in a pinch these will certainly do.  And they will look cute in your guests' homes when they entertain.  The graters are rather small at about 3.5" tall by 1 3/4" wide at the base. 

Overall: Would recommend just for the cuteness alone - but as bridal shower favors, not as wedding favors.

“Heart-y Beginnings” Heart-Shaped Egg & Pancake Mold Wedding Favors is another great little kitchen gadget from Kate Aspen.  When I removed it from the adorable retro checkered pattered box, I was surprised how sturdy the stainless steel was, and how smooth the handle was to turn into the upright position.  However, I'm no Rachel Ray - especially when it comes to eggs and pancakes (although I do whip up an awesome pasta sauce, breakfast isn't my specality) and I did have some difficulty using this mold. 

For my first try, I sprayed a non-stick pan with PAM, and poured a whole jumbo egg (scrambled) into the mold.  It wasn't until I poured the entire egg in, that I realized that it wouldn't cook all the way through.  There was just too much egg in the mold.  The mold didn't like it either and wound up leaking around the edges as seen here:

So the first lesson learned is not to overfill this heart! 

Next, I again used PAM on the pan, and scrambled another egg.  This time, I only used half of the beaten egg mixture and wound up with a much better result as seen in these two pictures:

As you can see, no leaks this time around!  But when I went to unstick the egg to flip it, I realized that I should have used PAM on the inside of the mold as well, as part of the egg stuck to it.  Oh Well, live and learn!  But here is a picture of the final product a cute fried egg shaped heart:

And you can see where the egg stuck to the mold.  These probably would work better with pancake batter, but I didn't have any in my house to try it. Word of caution: handwash if you use eggs in it - my dishwasher didn't get off all of the egg inside the mold and I had to handwash anyway.

Overall: Would recommend just for the cuteness alone - but these do indeed work as a mold.  Quality and packaging are great

Baby, It's Hot Outside! In the middle of the July heat, you can be sure cooler days can't come quickly enough.  Today we feaure the “Hot! Hot! Hot!” Pepper Magnet Wedding Favors in Southwest Kitchen Box, a summertime and southwest favorite wedding favor.  I love hot sauce, although I can't eat some of the really hot stuff such as many of Blair's Hot Sauces.  My absolute favorite hot sauce - which isn't really hot at all is Georgia Peach & Vidalia Onion Hot Sauce which I'd highly recommend - its great on burgers and london broil.  But I digress.... If your a hot sauce lover, if you two are just "Hot! Hot! Hot!", or if your having a summer wedding these are adorable wedding favors for both the men and the women on your guest list - after all who doesn't use magnets in their homes or office?

Although these magnets are a blast, I think the packaging wins here.  How adorable is the little box fridge and countertops?  It almost looks like doll house furniture!  Kate Aspen once again, does an amazing packaging job.  The polyresin magnets measure 2" by 1.5" wide and the box is a whopping 4.5" x 4" - a substaintial box, a fabulous favor!

Overall: Would recommend - great packaging and a cute wedding favor for both the men and women on your guest list.

"Have A Ball" Stainless Steel Melon Baller Wedding Favors are a wonderful choice for those who love to cook.  These would also make pretty cool bridal shower favors.  I never had a melon baller until now, and with the summer time here, I have gotten my use out of this one!  Not only are these good for scooping up balls of your favorite melon, but they also make great swedish meatball scoops - no more trying to make mini meatballs, use this and it will do the trick! 

Made out of entirely stainless steel with hard black plastic accents on the handle, and inscribed "Have a Ball!" these are not only useful, practical wedding favors, but also quality well made ones.  It feels very solid in your hand, and it fits well in your hand.  Well, maybe not in a guy's hand - but it fits perfectly in a woman's!  Each scoop measures 5" long and the scoop itself is 1 1/4" in diameter.  Snd I love how inside the scoop is a little cut out of a heart (hard to see in the stock photo).  Definately buy these for your favors - even the packaging is fab its wrapped in a retro checkerboard patterned box with a chef hat thank you tag!

Overall: Would highly recommend, good quality.

One of Little Things' bestsellers, these genuine crystal cross bells make a great favor for religious weddings and events.  Bells are great for all of those "ring for a kiss" moments in your wedding reception, and these also make beautiful keepsakes for your guests.  Made of 24% Lead Crystal with a frosted cross top and a clear etched crystal bell bottom with crystal ringer - these are sure to impress your guests.  Each measures approxmately 3.5" tall and the base is 2" wide.  They come in blue floral boxes with a picture of the bell on two sides and the words "Cross Crystal Bell  24% Lead Crystal" on the other side. 

The packaging these come in I would not recommend for display purposes.  You would either need to wrap each individual box or remove each bell from each box and place them on each place setting.  The bells are wrapped rather well for transport, each is indivually bubble wrapped inside the box and the crystal charm which makes the bell sound is wrapped in tissue paper so that it does not break in shipping.

Overall: Would highly recommend, very good quality crystal wedding favors.  However you will need to wrap the boxes or remove the bells from the packaging.

I'm not a wine drinker, but I definately see how these beach themed wine charms could be useful to those who entertain.  I have been to parties where you set your glass down - sometimes right next to you - and someone will also put their glass next to yours.  These wine charms solve the question "Which glass is mine?".  By attaching a charm to each glass, you know exactly which glass is yours - that is if you can remember your charm

These are high quality pewter charms - they feel weighty in your hand.  Each is attached to a circular metal clip, and has 4 clear beads on each side of each of the charms. The wire measures 1 1/4" in diamter each.  The charms vary in size depending on the shape - but range from about 1" tall and from 1/4" to 3/4" in width. They are packaged in Fashioncraft's deluxe packaging - which is a sturdy black bottomed box with an ivory ribbon and heart thank you tag.  The box measures 4 1/4" x 2 1/2".

Overall: Would highly recommend.  Useful, practical and good quality. Works well for beach wedding favors

You don't need to be Italian to give your guests these practical "A Slice of Love" pizza cutter wedding favors.  Everyone loves pizza, and who couldn't use a pizza cutter in their home?  We fell in love with this design, so of course we had to test it out! 

The first thing you notice, is the darling pizza style box which front flips open (just like a pizza box) to reveal the cutter inside.  The cutter is made of stainless steel with a durable plastic handle.  The handle is a good size and fits nicely in both a mens or woman's hand.  It provides a good grip and a steady way to slice your pizza.  We were impressed on how well this cutter cut pizza.

The box measures an impressive 4.75" wide x 5" long.  The pizza cutter itself is approx. 3.5" round.  The packaging is fantastic from the cherkerboard sides to the hearts on the box and the "Hot & Fresh For You" tag.  However, note the organza ribbon is not placed exactly like in the picture (its not on an angle, but wrapped once around the box horizontally). 

Due to the handle being plastic, I would not recommend this item go in the diswasher.  Hubby decided to remove the blade, to clean it, but had a hard time popping it back into place.  He did manage to get it back into the clips, but we would not recommend removing the blade.  We would say hand wash only.

The only downside?  The word "Love" which is cut out of the blade to form the word - may get pizza caught in it - and you may have difficulty cleaning it.  However, this would not prevent us from using it or recommending it.  We love this cutter!

Overall: Would highly recommend.  Useful, practical and great for both male and female guests

"Love ... Let Me Count the Ways" - and let your guests too, with these unique wedding favors! Calculators are practical and these pink heart shaped ones will be used by your guests.  Well maybe not all of your guests - these like the Pink Heart Highlighters, may not be used by the male guests of your wedding.  Perhpas these work better for bridal showers, sweet 16 favors, a girl's baby shower, or favors for children.

We love these - all of us in the office have one at our desks.  Who doesn't use a calculator?  And they're pretty too. 

The calculators measure pproximately 3" wide x 3.5" long.  They have a removeable battery compartment and each takes a button / watch battery.  There are on / off buttons - so no worries about depleting the battery.  The buttons are soft to the touch and easy to press.

The packaging is lovely, the background is white with silver, light pink and dark pink hearts.  Each box is glued with an organza bow and a heart shaped "For You" tag.  The boxes measure approx 4" square.

Overall: Cute and functional but, may not be practical for all guests.  Would recommend.

The Highlight of My Life Heart Highlighter wedding favors are a cute idea, but we're not sure how many men from your reception will be using these.  I can't see a man in his office, at his desk, whipping out a pink heart highlighter.  But hey, you never know!  I would say to keep these as bridal shower favors or favors for the children at your wedding. 

That said, we really love how Kate Aspen has stepped up their packaging for this year's wedding favors.  Kate Aspen always packaged nicely, but the favors put out for 2008 - wow (we're reviewing more soon). 

These look adorable in the box and are even cuter outside of the box.  Each white frosted heart measures about 2" long and 1 7/8" wide.  (I suppose also too small for larger men's hands to hold as well). 

The highlighter is hot pink and works like a standard highlighter.  The white double faced satin ribbon and the "for you" tag is attached to the heart highlighter directly.  Each comes individually boxed as shown, and the box measures approx. 2 3/4" square.

Overall: Adorable and cute, these are better bridal shower or favors for children.  Not practical for men.  But would recommend.
